Exotic trips
During your stay in one of the villas in North Bali, you can use modern mini-vans, equipped with air-conditioning.
The helpful drivers who speak a reasonable about of English, will be happy to show you around.
In the North of Bali, the most well known locations are the metropolis and the former capital of Bali, Singaraja and the tourist site Lovina.
Singaraja may have been the old administrative center, but apart from the historic library, the administration buildings, the old harbor with its pier and the statue of liberty, old buildings from the VOC era, the ‘pasar’ and larger supermarkets, it is no entertainment center.
Regardless, Singaraja is still worth a visit.
Right in the center, at the roundabout, you’ll find the Garuda statue, the divine bird from mythology and the emblem of Indonesia.

In the Western direction you’ll find a place called
Lovina mainly famous for its
dolphins.
In this sociable location, you can rent the local boats to go embark onto the Sea and spot dolphins.
At the crack of dawn, the boats depart, after which they’ll sail 8 kilometers away from the mainland, to watch the dolphins catch their meal, mainly shrimps. En route, most skippers know their way to several beautiful coral reefs, where you can admire the fish with their beautiful colors and the coral, straight from the boat.
And if you want to grab a bite somewhere else, you’ll find a wide range of restaurants in the center of Lovina. One can’t argue about taste, so it is up to you to make a selection from the Italian, Indonesian, Chinese, Thai and other kitchens. A simple but delicious Chinese kitchen you’ll find for instance at Warung Aria and for a more extensive menu you can go to Tropical Bistro. Between these two extremes you’ll find a variety of dining accommodations, which guarantees that you’ll find the kitchen you love. Hotel Chonos provides a varied menu, which ranges from European to Indonesian.
An excellent address for a brunch on Sunday, the day off of our staff, is hotel Damai.
Some restaurants offer a free transport service.
Around Lovina you’ll find a number of locations with attractions that are certainly worth a visit.
In the village of Banjar you’ll find the Buddhist monastery Brahma Vihara Arama that provides you a breathtaking view. Unique to Bali and even throughout Indonesia. At this monastery you can also admire a copy of the famous Borobudur. An excellent example of how these two religions have intertwined here. The Buddhist abbot is happy to provide you with an explanation about the right turning Swastika.

In Banjar, we’ll also find Air Panas the hot springs with maintained pools in a small lush gorge. The water temperature is highly pleasurable and the forest invites you to take a stroll.

About 10 km to the south of Singaraja, the waterfall GitGit plunges 40 meter deep into a ravine, under loud noise. Just 45 minutes away from Lovina by car and a climb of 350 steps, you’ll find the breathtaking waterfalls of
Sekumpul.
To the northwest tip of Bali you’ll find Menjangan island, a popular attraction for diving and snorkeling. This location is just a one hour drive from Lovina.
On route to this island, you can also visit the conservancy area Bali Barat National Park which is a stone's throw away from Menjangan Island.
To get a great impression of the country side of Bali, wit its own culture, you should hire a guide to take you on an exploration trip from the village Mayong through the nature of Northern Bali.
A magnificent stroll through plantations and Sawas (rice fields) with explanation about the various plants and crops.

If you’re interested in the cultural historical aspects you can travel to the village of
Sangsit through the main road to Singaraja. Here you’ll find the
Pura Beji, a lavishly decorated sanctuary. After driving a couple of minutes towards the North East (in the direction of the Sea) you’ll arrive
Pura Dalem Jagaraga, in this temple you’ll find a profusion of Western-inspired reliefs.
Bedugul is located at the southern bank of the Bratan Lake. In a picturesque environment you’ll find the temple Pura Ulun Danu, a popular photography subject. In the nearby town of Candi Kuning you’ll find the Botanic gardens where you’ll be able to enjoy numerous while orchids. The colorful “Pasar” in Bukit Mungsu is something you certainly do not want to miss.
After all these attractions it is time to enjoy a wonderful Balinese massage.
A special technique of yoga and acupressure in an almost mystical ambiance is what awaits you in the ZEN resort.
